## About this course

AI City Urban Design in Grasshopper & ComfyUI is a course that teaches architects to design an entire city concept using AI, Grasshopper, and ComfyUI, from initial site analysis to final presentation visuals. Across a four-day program, students build parametric city geometry and adaptive urban systems in Grasshopper using Pufferfish, Parakeet, Dendro, and LunchBox, develop responsive building and façade systems, apply environmental analysis with Ladybug, and produce AI-generated renders, diagrams, and video narratives using ComfyUI, Adobe Photoshop, Google Flow, and Adobe Premiere. The course is Beginner level and requires an understanding of 3D modeling in any software; prior knowledge of Rhino, Grasshopper, Photoshop, ComfyUI, or Google Flow is welcomed but not required.

## What you'll learn

- Design an urban city using AI and parametric workflows

- Build and analyze city-scale geometry in Grasshopper

- Generate AI visuals and concepts with ComfyUI

- Develop adaptive parametric urban systems

- Create detailed building and façade systems

- Apply environmental analysis with Ladybug

- Produce visual presentations with Photoshop

- Create video narratives with Google Flow and Premiere Pro

## Methodology

We will start project development by creating a simplified geometry of the cityscape in Grasshopper. Based on this geometry, we will produce AI-generated images, diagrams, videos, and all other materials for our concept.

To achieve results within the given timeframe, we will combine an in-depth study of the most relevant tools. This workflow simulates the approach to designing actual concepts in advanced architecture studios focused on digital design.

Our goal is to make a complete story about the concept that we will create. Storytelling is also an important part of how the project will be presented, and AI tools will help us to achieve decent results.

There are no predetermined types of designs or typologies in the workshop. Students can follow their own direction. But from the tutor's side, we will step by step go through specific examples that cover the most intricate parametric+AI design approaches.

## FAQ

### Designing an entire city in a few days sounds overwhelming. Will I need to manually 3D model every building?
You will learn how to build "Adaptive Parametric Urban Systems" using Grasshopper. By creating simplified, rule-based geometries and parametric patterns, you can rapidly generate city-scale layouts. This frees you up from tedious manual modeling so you can focus on the relationships, scenarios, and overall concept.

### The software list is huge (Grasshopper, ComfyUI, Ladybug, Google Flow). Do I need to be an expert in all of these before registering?
Not at all. The only strict requirement is a basic understanding of 3D modeling in any software. While prior knowledge of Rhino or ComfyUI is welcome, the workshop is designed to take you step-by-step through this specific workflow.

### How do we ensure the city design actually makes sense for the environment?
The workflow integrates actual environmental data. Before generating AI visuals, you will use tools like Ladybug and Eddy3D within Grasshopper to analyze your site. This allows you to define optimal locations for urban functions and building systems based on real-world environmental logic

### Am I forced to design a specific type of futuristic metropolis, or can I explore my own architectural style?
You have complete creative freedom. There are no predetermined design types or typologies enforced in this workshop.

### What kind of portfolio materials will I have produced by the end of the workshop?
You will leave with a comprehensive, multi-media presentation. The final day is heavily focused on "Storytelling." Rather than just static screenshots, you will learn to use ComfyUI, Photoshop, Google Flow, and Premiere Pro to translate your 3D geometry into high-quality AI renders, diagrams, and a complete video narrative that effectively pitches your urban concept.
