## About this course

BIM & Rhino.Inside for Advanced Tower Design is a course that teaches architects to design a complete residential tower, from BIM organization to parametric facades and AI-assisted rendering. Across four sessions, students build Revit templates and families, model the tower's shell, core, slabs, and columns parametrically in Rhino and Grasshopper, transfer that geometry into Revit using Rhino.Inside to calculate areas and prepare typical floors, and produce final presentation renders using ComfyUI and Adobe Photoshop. The course is Intermediate level and requires basic Revit skills, including familiarity with the Revit Family Editor.

## What you'll learn

- Project organization using BIM technology

- Generating complex facades and details in Rhino + Grasshopper

- Utilize Rhino.Inside to transfer geometry and parameters from Rhino to Revit and vice versa

- Rendering and post-processing in ComfyUI and Photoshop

- Developing Revit templates and families for efficient project setup

- Creating tower shells, cores, slabs, and columns parametrically in Grasshopper

- Integrating detailed geometry into BIM with accurate area calculations

- Preparing presentation-ready diagrams and documentation in Revit

## Methodology

This workshop will teach you how to build a detailed 3D model in which relatively simple geometry will be created directly in BIM (Autodesk Revit Families), while geometrically complex parts will be generated in Rhino and Grasshopper. We will use Rhino.Inside to provide a direct connection between the different project environments.

### Program:

**Day 1 – October 4, 2025

**

- Workshop overviewShort introduction about the overall workflow that we will use during the workshop

- Lecture: Project organization using BIM technologyThis lecture will introduce the BIM workflow for projects that feature complex shells or other sophisticated building components. It will also demonstrate examples of projects where this approach has been used.

- Revit: Preparing templates, families, and empty models for further project developmentThis is the organizational part that precedes any project.

**Day 2 – October 5, 2025

**

- Rhino + Grasshopper: Developing the tower’s shellThis section will focus on programming and modeling the tower’s shape and facade details as well as main structural elements (building core, slabs, and columns).

**Day 3 – October 11, 2025

**

- Rhino.Inside and Revit: Creating the final modelThis section will focus on Revit and Rhino.Inside, we will transfer previously developed facade elements into the BIM environment. Then we will develop typical floors, calculate areas, and prepare graphical schemes for the final presentation.

**Day 4 – October 12, 2025

**

- Revit: Final adjustments for presentationFinal tweaks in Revit to ensure all geometry, views, and annotations are presentation-ready.

- Rendering and post-processing with AI + PhotoshopThis section will focus on ComfyUI + Photoshop workflow for producing final renders of the project.

## FAQ

### Do I need to know Revit before joining this workshop?
Yes, basic Revit skills are required. If you’re unfamiliar, we recommend completing our _Revit Basics 101_ course or reviewing the suggested tutorials on Revit Family Editor before the workshop.

### What’s the role of Rhino.Inside in the workflow?
Rhino.Inside enables seamless data and geometry transfer between Rhino/Grasshopper and Revit. You’ll use it to integrate complex parametric elements like tower facades into the BIM environment for documentation and analysis.

### Will I learn how to create a complete building model?
Yes. You’ll model the tower’s shell, structure, and floors parametrically, then transfer it into Revit to complete the BIM setup, calculate areas, and generate presentation-ready visuals and documentation.

### What kind of visuals will we produce during the workshop?
In the final session, you’ll use ComfyUI and Photoshop for post-processing and rendering, resulting in polished architectural visuals and diagrams suitable for presentations or portfolios.

### Will this workshop help me streamline my architectural design-to-documentation workflow?
The workshop focuses on integrating parametric design with BIM to accelerate the transition from concept to documentation.
