AI is here to stay and is already having a strong influence on all design sectors at a speed beyond what our senses can clearly perceive. It is our responsibility as professionals to prepare ourselves to properly use these amazing tools, prioritizing the human factor and establishing guidelines for a balanced and conscious handling of them. The course will delve into technical, philosophical, theoretical, and practical aspects of creating design concepts using Midjourney 5.1 as a tool. The possibilities are endless, and this is just the beginning.

Comprehensive Approach: Delve into the technical, philosophical, and theoretical aspects of design concepts using Midjourney 5.1, preparing for a future where AI is integral to creative processes.

Instructor
Rolo is an accomplished professional with a proven track record of success in the architecture and commercial design industries. With expertise in Architectural Design, POS Design, Stand Design, and Furniture Design, Rolo has demonstrated a high level of proficiency in delivering innovative and visually stunning projects. Holding a Licentiate degree in Architecture and 3D Arch Visualization from the prestigious Universidad de Costa Rica, Rolo possesses a strong foundation in architectural principles and advanced visualization techniques. Currently, Rolo is channeling their focus towards Metaverse content development and architectural conceptualization, leveraging the power of AI. As a distinguished speaker, Rolo has been invited to deliver a compelling oration at the esteemed Computational Design: NEXT 14.0 conference, where they will delve into the transformative potential of AI in shaping the future of architectural design and conceptualization.
A Strong Foundation for AutoTroph Computational Thinking
This course was especially valuable for my AutoTroph research because it develops the kind of computational thinking needed to work with adaptive architectural systems. The progression from mathematical surfaces and data structures to recursive algorithms, meshes, and volumetric modeling shows how design can emerge from rules, relationships, and feedback. Rather than treating Grasshopper as a form-making tool, the workshop encourages participants to design the process itself, which closely aligns with my interest in architectures that can respond, transform, and evolve.
