What is Rhino 3D used for in architecture?

Rhino 3D is a NURBS-based 3D modeling environment used in architecture for designing building geometry, developing complex surfaces, preparing fabrication files and hosting parametric design workflows through Grasshopper. Do I need to know Grasshopper to use Rhino for architecture?

No. Rhino works as a standalone 3D modeling environment and does not require Grasshopper knowledge. Grasshopper extends Rhino with parametric capability and can be learned separately or alongside Rhino depending on the course.
