PAACADEMY's Sustainability courses embed environmental performance analysis directly into parametric design workflows. Our curriculum is anchored by industry-leading tools: Ladybug for solar, wind and climate data analysis inside Grasshopper, Autodesk Forma for early-stage environmental simulation, and Opossum for multi-criteria optimization against competing performance targets. Building Performance with Forma & Opossum teaches a full workflow covering operational carbon, embodied carbon and occupant comfort, generating a parametric model that automatically produces a Bill of Quantities for embodied carbon mapping. Radical Net-Zero Buildings focuses on achieving operational net-zero status through free-form geometry modeling combined with renewable energy integration on-site. Parametric Optimizations uses Ladybug and LunchBox to translate real climate and site data into design decisions, teaching architects how to respond to environmental inputs rather than apply sustainability as a finishing layer. The catalog also covers climate-adaptive architecture, resilient urban design, performative facades, and biological and ecological systems in design.
