About this workshop

Revisit an insightful introduction to parametric modeling, now available on our website!

Hamid Hassanzadeh, Arturo Tedeschi, and PA hosted an engaging webinar designed to share knowledge and inspire creativity during the quarantine. The session, aimed at beginners, introduced Grasshopper, a powerful visual programming tool for parametric design.

Originally streamed live on YouTube, the webinar is now available on our website, offering a chance to revisit the fundamentals of parametric workflows at your own pace.

What you will learn

  • 01

    Understanding Grasshopper’s Interface

  • 02

    Creating Simple Parametric Models

  • 03

    Navigating the tool’s components

  • 04

    Applying techniques to design concepts

Methodology

This session provides a step-by-step guide to Grasshopper, helping beginners understand the core concepts of algorithmic modeling, dynamic geometries, and computational design workflows.

The focus was on teaching the basics of parametric design and its application in architecture and design. Key concepts were demonstrated through practical exercises and real-time applications, giving participants a hands-on experience.

This webinar on Rhino 3D + Grasshopper 3D was a nice, chill intro to parametric design — perfect for getting your feet wet. It walks you through the basics (interface, simple parametric models, algorithm‑driven geometry) and shows how to use visual scripting to create dynamic, changeable designs. The lessons were short (~2 hours), practical and hands‑on, so even if you’re a total beginner, you can follow along without getting lost. Overall, it’s a solid little crash‑course if you want to start building generative design skills fast.
