As the architectural profession continues to evolve, technological advancement is reshaping how designers approach their work. The transition from traditional drafting to digital tools like CAD, Rhino, and Grasshopper brought significant shifts in practice while rendering engines such as V-Ray and Enscape revolutionized visualization. The rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence, primarily through diffusion models and AI-driven generative tools, is introducing a new paradigm for architectural design.

This workshop is designed to harness AI technologies effectively while remaining in control of the creative process. Through two targeted, hands-on sessions, participants will explore how AI can be thoughtfully integrated to enhance the creative design process. The focus will be on practical application—using AI as an extension of the designer’s toolkit without losing sight of core architectural principles.

This workshop will be interactive, with dedicated time to address participants' questions and thoroughly explain the key concepts to avoid confusion, Offering ample opportunities for discussion so participants can leave with a confident understanding of how to apply AI tools effectively in their own design workflows.

Effective AI prompting strategies.
Text-to-image generation using Stable Diffusion.
Image-to-image transformations for iterative design.
Basics of image-to-video workflows.
Utilizing ControlNet for enhanced control in AI outputs.
Exploring Prompt Travel for creative transitions and animations.
Refining AI-generated designs in Photoshop.
Best practices for presenting and communicating AI-driven designs to clients and professors.
A brief introduction to Runway ML (This is a paid service, so we’ll cover it briefly. Free alternatives will also be mentioned).

This workshop will take a practical approach to implementing AI techniques in your design workflow, with an emphasis on effectively communicating these innovations to clients and professors.

In this workshop, participants will learn to integrate AI tools like Stable Diffusion into their architectural design workflows. Topics covered include text-to-image and image-to-image generation, image-to-video creation basics, and advanced controls with ControlNet. Participants will explore Prompt Travel for creative transitions, refine their AI-generated designs in Photoshop, and learn best practices for communicating their work. By the end of the workshop, attendees will be equipped with practical AI skills to enhance creativity while maintaining control over their design process.

“AI-Driven Design Practice 2.0” will provide a practical framework for incorporating artificial intelligence into various stages of the design process. From early concept generation to more refined phases, AI can significantly enhance creativity and efficiency. Participants will learn how to strategically use SDXL in their workflows, covering text-to-image image-to-image techniques, the basics of video generation, and an introduction to LoRA training. The hands-on sessions will focus on integrating these tools seamlessly into design practice, offering practical insights that elevate both precision and innovation.

The workshop will focus on real-world applications that participants can implement immediately in their current design projects, ensuring a seamless integration of AI tools into existing workflows.
