Curvilinear Concepts: AI Innovation to 3D Modeling is a workshop teaching students to design curvilinear architectural forms using generative AI, led by Prabhat Arora. Participants craft prompts in Midjourney V6 to generate complex building concepts, then translate the resulting imagery into unique 3D geometry using Autodesk Maya, Rhinoceros, and Grasshopper 3D, before rendering final models in Chaos Enscape or Keyshot. Working in groups on large-scale projects such as high-density housing and campus buildings, participants move through an iterative prompt-to-geometry-to-render workflow while keeping models clean and suitable for 3D printing. In this workshop students will learn how to create curvilinear architectural forms similar to those designed by MAD Architects and Zaha Hadid Architects (for reference only). We will be using generative artificial intelligence to create these forms and then use a 3D modeling tool to create a unique geometry. We will prompt crafting using Midjourney V6 or lower to develop sophisticated and complex building design concepts. Through an iterative process, we will arrive at our desired results, which can be highly iterative for precise outcomes. Examples of projects that we will work on include a high-density housing complex, a Google campus, etc.

Students will work in groups in this workshop
The students will be given a general tutorial on prompt crafting for Midjourney and then given time to generate attractive, complex, and sophisticated forms on Midjourney, most likely a large-scale architectural project. Each student can focus on developing different project parts, such as façade, interiors, furniture, lighting, textures, etc.
Participants will then be given a basic introduction to Maya and Rhinoceros initially to get the hang of the tool with a specific form, procedural 3D Modelling from a primitive polygon, or using Rhino/Grasshopper to generate the form.
After that, the exercise will be combinatorial, using the generated form and replicating/altering it on the 3D Modelling tool.
The students will also receive a basic tutorial on rendering their images using Enscape or Keyshot.
Each group will be given time to discuss ideas and divide their work individually.

This workshop aims to use Midjourney to create fluid or curvilinear shapes ranging from the scale of individual products to entire cities.

Once we’ve generated the desired form, we’ll replicate or modify it using programs such as Autodesk Maya, Rhinoceros, and Grasshopper. Finally, depending on the product size, we will render the design using either Enscape or Keyshot. Throughout the process, we will ensure that our geometry is clean, easy to handle, and suitable for 3D printing.

Prabhat Arora is a London-based Architect, Designer, and Wellbeing Professional. He holds an exceptional talent endorsement from the Arts Council England. He is a former Architectural Designer at Zaha Hadid Architects and holds a Master’s in Architecture and Urbanism from the Architectural Association Design Research Laboratory: Schumacher Studio. At Zaha Hadid Architects, he was involved with Neom Trojena and Oystra, Marjan Island. He explored Agent-Based Parametric Semiology for his Master’s Thesis. Prabhat designed and built his first Architectural project at 22 years of age at IIT Madras. His interests lie in Parametricism, Complex Geometry Modelling, 3D printing, and Semiotics. Prabhat has been using Unity, Maya, Grasshopper, Keyshot, and Enscape to develop high-end projects. He has recently been involved in large-scale 3D Printing and is currently working on high-end architectural projects in the Middle East with Kettle Collective.

This workshop Curvilinear Concepts AI Innovation to 3D Modeling was a fun but powerful dive into making graceful, curvy architecture using AI + 3D tools. The flow from prompting shapes in Midjourney to modeling in Rhinoceros 3D and Autodesk Maya felt creative and exciting — you really get to build forms inspired by fluid‑style architecture (kind of like what MAD Architects or Zaha Hadid Architects might sketch). The live sessions are short (about 8 hours over two days) but the hands‑on work and ability to generate + model your own complex geometry make it a solid start if you want to explore expressive, organic architecture.
