This workshop dives deep into advanced parametric design using Revit, Grasshopper, and Rhino.Inside. Unlike typical software tutorials, this course focuses on creating complex nested curtain panels with an iris aperture, akin to the designs seen in the Institute du Monde Arabe by Jean Nouvel. Participants will explore innovative tools and methodologies to manipulate geometry and develop parametric families, enhancing their skills to tackle sophisticated architectural challenges.

Mastering Advanced Parametric Design: Creating Nested Curtain Panels in Revit
Hands-On with Grasshopper: Manipulating Complex Geometries for Architectural Innovation
Seamless Integration: Using Rhino.Inside to Enhance Revit with Parametric Families
Data Structures and Patterns: Exploring Plugins like Parakeet for Unique Designs
Practical Applications: Tackling Sophisticated Architectural Challenges through Parametrics
This workshop is designed for participants with a basic understanding of Revit and parametric design. The complexity level is moderate to advanced. The workshop will teach participants to create and manipulate complex geometries and parametric curtain panels using Grasshopper and Rhino.Inside Revit focuses on practical applications in architectural design.

Participants will work individually on exercises during the workshop. The workflow will include Session 1: Creating and manipulating geometry in Grasshopper, understanding complex data structures, and using plugins like Parakeet to generate different panel patterns. Session 2: Participants will learn to use Rhino.Inside to seamlessly integrate the geometry into Revit and develop complex families (line-based, curtain, and adaptive) to create a parametric family within Revit, thereby gaining practical skills in software integration.
