From Prompts to 3D Worlds: Inside The Diffusion Architect 3.0 – Flux Era

Led by Ismail Seleit, The Diffusion Architect 3.0: Flux Era was an intensive two-day PAACADEMY workshop that immersed participants in the cutting edge of AI-powered design visualization in architecture. Over the course of two sessions, the workshop unfolded a complete pipeline from foundational text-to-image ideation to advanced multimodal workflows, cinematic animation, and image-to-3D generation, powered by the Flux model suite inside ComfyUI.

Rather than treating AI as an afterthought for render polish, the sessions framed it as a design intelligence: a creative and technical engine that guides architectural ideation, refinement, and storytelling at every stage of the process.

Flux Foundations: Text-to-Image, Control & Stylistic Intelligence

Day 1 began by situating participants in the Flux Era, a paradigm shift from diffusion models of the past toward transformer-based architectures that enable unprecedented speed, quality, and control. Ismail unpacked the Flux family, explaining the roles of flux schnell for rapid generation, flux dev for high-fidelity control, flux fill for inpainting, and flux kontext dev for multimodal editing.

Participants then built their first workflows in ComfyUI, creating text-to-image pipelines with Flux Schnell to generate architectural concepts in seconds. This foundational exercise emphasized how speed can unlock iterative design thinking: instead of over-polishing a single image, students explored dozens of conceptual directions, treating AI as a live sketching tool.

From there, the session expanded into image-to-image techniques and ControlNet integrations. Using canny and depth controls, attendees learned to guide generation from line drawings, massing diagrams, or simple 3D exports, transforming raw geometry into richly detailed architectural imagery. Switching to flux dev enabled greater precision, making ControlNet workflows ideal for controlled facade studies, stylistic translations, or spatial explorations.

One of the most engaging moments came during the deep dive into LoRAs and flux redux (IPAdapter). Ismail demonstrated how architectural LoRAs, trained on specific styles like brutalism, biophilic design, or material palettes, can be applied and weighted for nuanced stylistic control. Meanwhile, redux referencing allowed participants to lock mood, composition, or stylistic identity across iterations, balancing textual prompts, LoRAs, and image guidance seamlessly.

The day concluded with corrective inpainting using flux fill and high-resolution upscaling with flux dev, giving participants clean, presentation-ready outputs while retaining parametric flexibility. By the end of Day 1, attendees had mastered a robust toolkit for controlled architectural image generation, ready to be combined into more complex workflows.

Advanced Workflows: Multimodality, Animation & Dimensional Leaps

Day 2 shifted gears toward synergy, layering the previously learned techniques into complete, professional-grade pipelines. The session opened with combinational workflows, where flux dev acted as the base, conditioned by multiple ControlNets, stylized by LoRAs, and guided through redux references. Ismail walked through the building and organized large ComfyUI graphs, demonstrating how complex creative intent can be structured methodically for repeatable results.

The focus then moved to multimodal generation with Flux Kontext Dev, Flux’s most advanced model. By processing image and text prompts simultaneously, kontext dev enabled in-context editing far beyond traditional inpainting. Participants explored use cases such as swapping materials (“make the facade timber”), stylistic transformations (“turn this render into an anime sketch”), and textual edits directly on the image. This unlocked a new level of precision in refining architectural narratives.

In the third hour, Ismail introduced Kling AI for image-to-video translation, turning static scenes into animated architectural sequences. Attendees prepared images generated in ComfyUI and brought them to life through camera movements, atmospheric effects, and cinematic fly-throughs. This section highlighted how AI workflows are now bridging the gap between concept imagery and immersive storytelling.

The final leap came through Hunyuan 2.5, where selected 2D images were converted into 3D models. Ismail guided participants through the step-by-step process, from choosing ideal source imagery to analyzing the generated geometry and textures. This exercise revealed how AI can accelerate the transition from conceptual visualization to spatial form-making, providing early volumetric studies that can later be refined in Rhino or Blender.

A New Creative Paradigm

Across both sessions, The Diffusion Architect 3.0: Flux Era reframed AI not as a post-production trick, but as a core design methodology. By mastering Flux models, ComfyUI, ControlNets, LoRAs, Kling AI, and Hunyuan 2.5, participants developed workflows that span the entire creative arc: from prompt-driven ideation to cinematic visualization and 3D generation.
