Generative AI is not just another tool in the architectural designer’s toolkit—it’s a transformative force reshaping how ideas are conceived, developed, and realized. This workshop delves into 3D generative AI, showcasing its potential to unlock innovative, creative workflows in a multimodal, AI-aided process that empowers designers with greater control over their inputs and enhanced creative agency.

In this Neural Architecture workshop, you will dive into the latest developments in 3D generative AI through hands-on sessions. This will include a combination of text-to-image, video-to-video, and 3D generative models to create conceptual architectural designs. Using Google Colab notebooks and accessible web-based platforms, you will explore Gaussian splats—a method for reconstructing 3D forms from sparse image data—and multiview diffusion models. With these, you will have control over creating forms and 3D spaces through image or text inputs. This workshop equips you with the skills to integrate these emerging tools into your creative practices.

Join George Guida, a leading voice in architecture and AI, for an in-depth exploration of innovative 3D workflows. By the end of the workshop - whether you’re new to AI or looking to deepen your expertise, you’ll have a solid grasp of integrating these emerging tools into your own creative workflows, bridging the gap between traditional and ai-aided workflows.

This workshop focuses on architectural ideation and visualization at the individual building scale. Participants will explore diverse typologies, including residential, cultural, and pavilion structures while leveraging cutting-edge tools like xFigura, Google Colab, and Blender. The software suite combines open-source tools and web-based tools, ensuring accessibility while delving into the latest research on 3D workflows, including text-to-image, image-to-3D, and video-to-video transformations.

Participants will engage in hands-on activities, working individually on their projects while applying the following workflows:

  • Text-to-Image & Image-to-Image Generation: Leverage tools like xFigura and Google Colab to design a building typology of your choice using FLUX image generation models.
  • 3D Form Creation: Use 3D multiview diffusion models to generate architectural forms.
  • Video-to-Video Editing: Refine and iterate architectural designs with platforms such as Runway ML or Sora, enabling dynamic transformations.
  • Gaussian Splats & 3D Reconstruction: Utilize tools like Luma.ai and Blender to convert generative designs into detailed 3D models ready for visualization and presentation.

The course combines introductory technical foundations with creative applications, ensuring participants can immediately implement what they have learned in their projects.
