“Geometry, the mother of architecture.” This phrase encapsulates the profound relationship between these two fundamental disciplines that have shaped our built environment for millennia. The question that intrigues us today is: What remains to be uncovered regarding geometry and its relation to design? And how are we meant to uncover it?We’ve dominated the two-dimensional world and explored the three-dimensional realm to an extent. The next step is to unveil a fourth-dimensional paradigm in which one design can create various outcomes. This workshop is aimed at finding conceptual freedom via parametric modeling. As we progress in this technological age, so must our thinking and approach towards architecture and design. This workshop will address how parametric software can be used as a methodological tool and how we can face new challenges.

Exploration of Geometry: Delve into the profound relationship between geometry and architecture, aiming to uncover new dimensions in design through parametric modeling.
Parametric Design Introduction: Learn fundamental principles and applications of parametric design using Grasshopper, focusing on innovative thinking in architecture.
Hands-On Scripting: Gain skills to build and modify scripts from scratch, mastering the key functionalities of Grasshopper for dynamic architectural designs.
Conceptual Freedom: Discover how parametric design allows for multiple outcomes, fostering creativity and reimagining traditional architectural practices.
Comprehensive Understanding: Leave the workshop with a firm grasp of integrating parametric design into your project workflow, enhancing your overall design approach.

The course’s main objective is to introduce participants to the world of parametric design using Grasshopper. We will build/model scripts from scratch, review the software’s fundamentals, and create a workflow based on design methodologies around parametric scripting.

The goal of the two-day workshop is for participants to leave with a strong understanding of how the software works and how it can be implemented into any project's design process.

Introduce Parametric Design: Teach fundamental principles and applications of parametric design using Grasshopper software. Master Grasshopper Basics: This workshop will equip participants with the skills to build and modify scripts from scratch, reviewing the software's key functionalities. Enhance Scripting Techniques: Advance participants' scripting abilities for more complex and dynamic architectural designs. Apply Conceptual Design Freedom: Explore how parametric design can lead to multiple design outcomes and innovate traditional architectural practices.
